S uperintendents are at times required to address the concerns of their patrons
about their use of pesticides. Knowing which pesticide to use, and applying
it properly, will help to alleviate these concerns.
Please refer to our Healthy Lawns key
messages that emphasize IPM principles for tips on how to maintain your
turf. Adopting a more integrated approach to lawn care and pest management
will allow you to reduce your pesticide use.
If you must use a pesticide, knowing which ones can be used and which reduced-risk pesticides are available for use is an important step. To learn more about these, please refer to:
To reduce the potential for human exposure to pesticides, please see the instructions
for proper application found in the Applicator
Core and
the Landscape
module of
the Applicator Basic Knowledge Requirements developed by the Pesticide Education,
Training and Certification Working Group.
