Weed Control Legislation

Some provinces require landowners to control noxious weeds. Plants are generally considered to be noxious if they are exotics (non-native), and negatively impact agriculture, navigation, fish, wildlife, or public health. Because of their aggressive growth, these plants can be highly destructive, competitive and difficult to control. Most Weed Acts require the destruction of noxious weeds.
