Purpose

This web site is provided by the Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA), Health Canada, as a service to those interested in the development of sustainable pest management strategies in urban environments, particularly in relation to lawn care. Its intent is to assist those persons by identifying various sources of relevant information and providing links to external sites.

Opinions

Information is selected for inclusion in the web site solely on the basis of its relevance to healthy lawn care strategies and practices and to risk reduction. It is not edited by the PMRA with respect to any opinions, philosophies or comments on pest control products which it may contain. Accordingly, it does not necessarily reflect the opinions or policies of the PMRA.

Contents

The web site does not purport to provide access to all available relevant information. However, every reasonable effort will be made to keep the information current. Since new sources of information may appear at any time, the PMRA cannot and does not assure the completeness and accuracy of the site's contents. As well, since the contents of external sites are subject to change without advice to the PMRA, the Agency cannot and does not assure the relevance, completeness or accuracy of their information. Products

Any pest control product imported into, sold or used in Canada must first be registered under the Pest Control Products Act. Products used by home gardeners must be classified as "Domestic," meaning that they have been approved for marketing to consumers for use in and around a dwelling. Wherever a particular pest control product or a list of these products is referred to in accessed material, the reader must be aware that such product(s), recommended in other countries, may not be registered for use in Canada and/or for the particular purpose implied.
